Sliding Gates

Sliding Gates in Melbourne

Custom steel sliding gates — track or cantilever, manual or automatic — fabricated to fit your driveway’s width and slope.

Home › Services › Sliding Gates

Adonai Steel Fabrications builds custom sliding gates for Melbourne driveways in our Kilsyth workshop. A sliding gate runs parallel to your fence line on a ground track or a cantilever rail, so it suits sloped, short and wide driveways where a swing gate won’t clear — and every one is measured on site and fabricated to your opening.

We install across Melbourne’s East, including Croydon, Ringwood, Doncaster, Templestowe, Kew and Hawthorn. Price depends on the opening width, track or cantilever, the infill design, the finish and whether you automate — you get a straightforward quote once we’ve measured.

Automation

Automatic sliding gates in Melbourne

Every sliding gate we build is automation-ready, so you can fit a motor on day one or add it later without rebuilding the gate. We can also fabricate a fully automatic sliding gate from the start, with the framing set up for the motor.

Automatic sliding gates suit sloped, short and wide driveways and only need clear run-off space beside the opening. See our gate automation page for motors and access control.

Cost

What affects the cost of a sliding gate?

The price depends on the opening width, track or cantilever, the infill design (solid, slatted or open-bar), the finish, and whether you automate. Every gate is measured on site and fabricated to your opening, so we quote after we have measured rather than from a stock price list.

For typical cost ranges, read our gate cost guide.

Sliding or swing?

Sliding gate or swing gate?

A sliding gate travels along your fence line, so it works where a swing gate would hit the ground on a slope or has no room to open. A swing gate needs clear space to swing through an arc but does not need run-off space beside the opening.

Read our sliding vs swing gates guide, or see all our driveway gates.

FAQs

Common questions

Yes — sliding gates are usually the better choice on a slope because the gate travels across the opening instead of swinging through an arc that can hit the ground.

It needs clear run-off space beside the opening, roughly the width of the opening plus a little extra. It needs almost no room in front of or behind the gate.

Yes. We can build the gate automation-ready now and fit a motor later, or automate it from day one.

A single sliding gate comfortably handles typical 5–7 metre driveway openings. For anything wider, talk to us — we’ll measure and advise.

More questions

More about sliding gates in Melbourne

How much does a sliding gate cost in Melbourne?
It depends on the opening width, track or cantilever, the infill design, the finish and whether you automate. We measure on site and give you a straightforward quote rather than a stock price. Our gate cost guide covers typical ranges.

Should I choose a track or cantilever sliding gate?
A track gate runs on wheels along a ground track and suits level or gently sloped driveways. A cantilever gate runs on rollers mounted to posts, with no track across the driveway, so it suits uneven ground or gravel but needs extra length for the cantilever tail. Tell us your slope and the space beside the opening and we will recommend one.

Do you install automatic sliding gates?
Yes. We build every sliding gate automation-ready and can fit the motor from day one or later. See our gate automation page.

Which Melbourne suburbs do you install sliding gates in?
We install across Melbourne’s East, including Kilsyth, Croydon, Ringwood, Bayswater, Boronia, Montrose, Wantirna, Doncaster, Templestowe, Kew and Hawthorn.
